How is cloud data transfer billed?
As of September 28, 2026, on Cloudflare internet egress is free; Cloudflare CDN starts at $0 per GB; and there is no managed NAT gateway to pay for. Your bill is each traffic type's gigabytes times its rate, tier by tier, plus any hourly charges.

What does Cloudflare charge for bandwidth?
At list prices, internet egress is free; Cloudflare CDN starts at $0 per GB; and there is no managed NAT gateway to pay for. Cloudflare charges nothing for bandwidth on its CDN or for egress from R2 storage; R2 bills storage ($0.015 per GB-month) and operations instead. It does not rent virtual machines, so there is no NAT, zone or region traffic to price: those lines apply to whatever compute sits behind it.
Is Cloudflare bandwidth really free?
For the CDN and for R2 storage, yes: Cloudflare charges no per-GB fee for data delivered to the internet on any plan, and R2 has no egress fee. R2 bills storage at $0.015 per GB-month and operations at $4.50 per million writes and $0.36 per million reads. Cloudflare does not rent servers, so your compute and its internal traffic still sit with another provider.
