Privacy: your numbers are worked out on your device

What you enter

Every calculation runs in your browser using JavaScript on the page. Your salary, loan amount, weight, date of birth and everything else you enter is never transmitted to a server, never written to a database and never visible to anyone but you. Closing the tab discards it.

Live forecasts and exchange rates

The snow day calculator needs tomorrow's forecast, so the town, city or ZIP code you type is sent to this site's server, which looks it up with the Open-Meteo geocoding and forecast services and returns the result. The place name is not stored or linked to you, beyond the standard request logs described below. Nothing else you enter on that page is sent.

Calculators that convert currencies fetch the day's reference rates from this site's server. That request carries none of your inputs: every visitor gets the same rates, and the conversion happens on your device.

Accounts and cookies

There are no accounts, so there is nothing to sign up for and no profile to build. This site sets the first-party Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*), and Google's advertising cookies may also be set by the ads, as described below.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count page visits and see which calculators are useful. For each page you open, Google receives the page path (for example /finance/emi-calculator), the site that referred you, your approximate location derived from your IP address, and basic device and browser details.

Some calculators keep your inputs in the page address so a result can be shared as a link. That part of the address is removed before anything is sent to Google, so Google Analytics never receives the numbers you enter. The reports are aggregate statistics and are not linked to any account.

You can opt out by blocking cookies for this site in your browser, using a content blocker, or installing the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Google's handling of this data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

Advertising

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense, which keeps the calculators free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site and other sites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on those visits.

The ad code runs in your browser like any other script on the page, so it can see the page address. Some calculators keep your inputs in that address so a result can be shared as a link (the part after the ?), which means those values can reach Google along with an ad request. If you would rather they did not, use a content blocker on this site.

You can turn off personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of personalised ads from other vendors that take part in the industry programme at aboutads.info. Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change that choice at any time.

Hosting and server logs

Pages are served by a hosting provider that, like any web host, records standard request logs such as IP address, timestamp and the page requested. These are used to keep the site running and secure. They are not linked to anything you type into a calculator, because apart from the forecast lookup above, that information never reaches the server.

Changes to this page
